From LKoerbling at ts.ucla.edu Tue May 7 07:41:18 2019 From: LKoerbling at ts.ucla.edu (Koerbling, Lisa) Date: Tue, 7 May 2019 14:41:18 +0000 Subject: [UCpark] Proposed Law to Eliminate Ability to Boot or Tow Parking Scofflaws Message-ID: There is a proposed law to eliminate the ability to boot or tow parking scofflaws: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200AB516. Apparently, it has a good chance of passing. It is critical that we continue to have the ability to deal with scofflaws who park illegally by at least being able to boot their vehicles, but preferably to also retain the ability to tow. Given both the parking space management and financial impacts we are asking UCLA Government & Community Relations to reach out to the UCOP State Government Relations (SGR) office to request that UC formally oppose this legislation. They are doing so and have suggested that we ask all the other UC campus Transportation departments to do the same. Thank you, Lisa Koerbling Commuter & Parking Services Director UCLA Events & Transportation -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
