[Congressman Dana Rohrabacher]Please join us for a special roundtable event, exploring “Innovation and Investment in Earthquake Safety.” This event is sponsored by the UC Irvine Program in Public Health and will cover a wide range of topics surrounding earthquake safety, including:

  *   Earthquake Forecasting
  *   Early Warning Systems
  *   Applications of NASA Technology
  *   Building Rating Systems
  *   Public/Private Innovation

Highlighted speakers include, U.S. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (with an introduction by Vice Chancellor for Research John C. Hemminger), noted earthquake expert, Dr. Lucy Jones (often referred to as the “Earthquake Lady”) and Professor Thomas Heaton of Caltech who will discuss “ShakeAlert: The Earthquake Early Warning System.” Additional panelists include Professor David Jackson (UCLA), Dr. Andrea Donnellan (JPL), Paul Conway (CoreFirst) and Professor Lisa Grant Ludwig (UCI), who will also act as moderator.
