Conducting a Thorough
Market Assessment

Leveraging the strengths of two successful programs, Calit2's TechPortal
is partnering with OCTANe at UCI to offer a new twist to a popular forum.

The TechPortal Entrepreneur Series seeks to inspire, connect and educate
those aiming to start their own technology business. The informal
luncheon program will offer a monthly series of topics meant to guide
attendees through the entrepreneurial process.

Topics are covered by leading entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and
university and industry experts on the necessary ingredients to launch a
successful startup. These seminars also provide a great venue for
members of the OCTANe network and wider technology community to meet
with entrepreneurial students and faculty researchers - some who are
occupants of TechPortal and others who are considering the
possibilities.

About the Speaker:

Brant Cooper has 20 years experience in the high tech industry. He has
participated in several startup ventures in a variety of roles,
including IT, marketing and business development. He recently
co-authored a startup book, The Entrepreneur's Guide to Customer
Development: A Cheat Sheet to The Four Steps to the Epiphany, and blogs
at Market By Numbers.

Patrick Vlaskovits <http://vlaskovits.com/about/> is an entrepreneur
and author who founded two startup companies. He has bachelor and
master's degrees from UC Santa Barbara, lived and worked in Budapest,
Hungary for a time, and has spearheaded multiple technology initiatives.
He is the co-author of The Entrepreneur's Guide to Customer Development:
A Cheat Sheet to The Four Steps to the Epiphany, and a co-organizer of
