BioForce Nanosciences is loaning UCI a Nano eNabler Desktop Molecular
Printing System for 12 months. The Nano eNabler will be available for
use by UCI researchers.

This system dispenses attoliter - femtoliter volumes of biomolecules,
nanoparticles and other liquids onto a variety of surfaces. Features <1
- 20um are created on the surface with 20nm spatial resolution.

Various materials can be printed, including proteins, oligonucleotides,
large DNA molecules, viruses, quantum dots, colloids, nanoparticles,
etchants, and adhesives. Surfaces that have been validated include
glass, silicon, silanes, gold, alkanethiol SAMs, polymers, hydrogel,
PDMS, and nitrocellulose. Applications include sensor functionalization
(cantilever sensors, optical waveguide sensors, nano/micro-electrodes,
nanotube/nanowire sensors), biomolecular assays and cell culture
studies.

A training session will be held at 2 p.m. today -Thursday, Dec. 14,
Calit2 Building, Room 1431 (BioMEMS Lab).
