Dear friends,

Submit an abstract to be considered for the next MLA convention, so that Modern Greek Studies and Greek Literature/Culture are represented in San Francisco in 2023. Below, you will find the two prospective panels:

Post-Byzantine Literary Traditions in the Mediterranean

Little attention has been given to Byzantine Empire's influence on modern literature. This panel invites abstracts that discuss sedimentations of Byzantium in the Mediterranean region. Submit abstracts (200-250 words) to Maria Hadjipolycarpou at mhadjipo at illinois.edu

Deadline for submissions: Monday, 21 March 2022
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Modern Greek-Life Writing

This panel invites abstracts on modern Greek life-writing, exploring auto/biographies that weave politics and history. Abstracts on authors of the diaspora are welcome. Send 200-250 word abstracts to Dionysia Eirini Kotsovili dionysia_eirini_kotsovili at sfu.ca.

Deadline for submissions: Monday, 14 March 2022

For additional questions, contact the panel organizers directly.

Sincerely,

Lissi Athanasiou-Krikelis, Ph.D.
