Registrations are now open!

On December 1-3, the Benaki Museum, the U.S. Embassy in Greece, and the British Council will present the 11th International CoMuseum Conference: (Re)Positioning the Museum of Tomorrow. The virtual Conference is organized in collaboration with the British Embassy in Athens and Polyeco Contemporary Art Initiative, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Municipality of Athens, and ICOM Greece. The CoMuseum is supported by Uni Systems S.M.S.A. and Microsoft as Major sponsors.

Museums and cultural organizations are in a unique position in their communities and in the world to help tackle modern challenges related to social inequality, health and safety, and the climate emergency. The CoMuseum 2021 will explore the repositioning of museums and cultural institutions through a human-centered approach, drawing upon new tools, skills and leadership models. Some of the topics that the CoMuseum 2021 will address include sustainability and digital strategies; the future of collections, curating and storytelling; the social impact of cultural organizations; and museums’ roles in the climate crisis.

During the eleventh instalment of this annual Conference, professionals from international museums and cultural organizations, artists, civil society representatives, educators, and academics will examine the above issues through keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, workshops and masterclasses.

The Conference will feature global experts and cultural leaders from around the world who will share their knowledge and experience through a series of presentations and discussions.

On December 2 and 3, the CoMuseum will present a series of virtual workshops and masterclasses for museum and cultural professionals.
