The University of Michigan invites outstanding individuals to apply for the
Michigan Humanities Emerging Research Scholars Program (MICHHERS).
Considering a Ph.D. in the Humanities?

Comparative Literature is pleased to announce our participation in
the Michigan Humanities Emerging Research Scholars (MICHHERS)The Program
aims to attract diverse scholars with unique experiences who foster
innovation and push the humanities to meet today’s challenges.

   - Work individually with UM faculty and graduate students.
   - Learn about various fields within your discipline along with the
   latest methodologies and developments.
   - Get practical instruction on applying to graduate school and pursuing
   an academic career.

*Eligible Participants *

   - Rising College Seniors
   - Recent B.A. Recipients
   - Terminal Master’s Students
   - Seriously considering a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan

*Benefits*

   - $1,000 Stipend
   - University Housing*
   - Round-Trip Travel Cost (up to $500)*
   - Application Fee Waiver for U-M

*Currently, we are planning to offer the program as an in-person
experience. Decisions to move the program to a virtual format offering will
be made following public health guidance from the State of Michigan and the
University of Michigan.
