  _Finding LGBTQ+ Voices in the World Language Classroom with Joseph
A critical component of creating classrooms that are centered in social
justice is ensuring that every student can see themself. This webinar
will offer language educators a glimpse at research about creating
learning environments that are welcoming and affirming of LGBTQ+
students and offer suggestions on how that research can inform a
language classroom. The presenter will offer suggestions on where to
find authentic resources that are inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community and
will discuss the challenges of discussing gendered languages with
students who increasingly acknowledge nonbinary identities.

_Multimodal Pedagogies in the L2 Classroom: Moving from Language to a
Communication Paradigm with José Aldemar Álvarez Valencia _ 

In this webinar, participants will be introduced to the main concepts of
multimodal pedagogies such as design, modes, semiotic resources, and
transmodality. Likewise, the presenter will discuss the main principles
of this new approach, followed by some examples on how it can be
implemented in a language/communication classroom.
