The Modern Greek Program of the Department of European Languages and Literatures, Queens College, CUNY, announces a position for a part-time instructor to teach two courses in Modern Greek Literature in Translation (writing/composition intensive) with a possibility of teaching Intermediate Modern Greek Language for the Fall 2019.  

 

Base salary and rank will depend on qualifications. The initial appointment may be renewed in subsequent semesters, subject to budgetary approval.  

 

Requirements include the ability to teach 19th and 20thcentury Modern Greek literature in English translation with a major emphasis on English composition.  Strong consideration will be given to candidates who also exhibit native or near-native proficiency in Modern Greek and a capability of teaching Intermediate language courses in Modern Greek.  Ph.D. in Modern Greek language and literature, or equivalent, preferred, ABD and MA considered.
