[MGSA-L] Translation of verses

Hello colleagues:


I'm writing to ask for your help in translating a few verses from two Greek poems which will be included in a biography I'm writing. I cannot translate poetry my self and I haven't been able to find a published translation of these poems either. Can someone assist me, please? I will give you credit of course. Alternatively, do you know if there's a published translation of these poems?


The poems are both written by Greek poet Angelos Sikelianos.

  1.  These verses are from the poem "Delphic Utterance" Δελφικός Λόγος (Delphikós Lógos)

Δελφοί, τό πλέγμα τῶν Ναών

ἡ συντυχία τῆς φύσης. Ἐδῶ

ἀνταμώνονται τῆς Γῆς σέ μιά

οἱ τρανές αἰσθήσεις.



     2. These verses are from the poem  Sibylla (Σίβυλλα)



Νότος, Βορράς, Ἀνατολή καί Δύση

Μέγας σταυρός κι ἀπάνω του τού ἀνθρώπου

Τό πνέμα βλέπω τώρα καρφωμένο.

Μά θά λυθή, κι ὁ ἀγέρας π’ ἀνασαίνω

Μεσ’ τή ψυχή μου ἐγώ τήν ὣρα τούτη

γιά ὂλες θά πνέψω τίς ψυχές.
