[MGSA-L] Block 15

Dear Neni, thank you for your response.

Indeed it is Block 15, at the Haidari military barracks.

I would appreciate anything you have on that camp, but no need for an overview of collaborators. I know all about the Greek Quislings, the Security Battalions, Special Security Branch, the mayors, municipalities, gendarmes and civilians who in one way or another, for various reasons, threw their support behind the Germans.

It’s the role of Greek citizens who worked in prisons and camps on Greek soil, where communists, democrats and Jews were interned and kept until they were shipped to Nazi camps in central Europe.

As always, thank you for your contributions which I often read on-line.

I do know that my grandmother paid 1000 sovereigns to have my uncle (aged 15 at the time) released from Haidari just a day before the execution, and that she paid this to a Greek, not a German. Certainly this man was a collaborator, but we don't know the block where my uncle was held. I have actually published this.
