Dear Language Educator,

Are you searching for a high-quality professional learning opportunity? The A.S. Onassis Program in Hellenic Studies at New York University is hosting an OPI Familiarization Workshop as part of the ACTFL Proficiency & Performance Summer Institute. The Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Familiarization Workshop will be held on Friday, May 4, at New York University (NYU).


The OPI Familiarization Workshop is intended for all language professionals—especially ones who want to learn how to best assess their students' oral proficiency and reflect on how this affects classroom practices! You'll learn about the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, the ACTFL Rating Scale, and the ACTFL OPI. You'll be able to hear samples at different levels of proficiency in both English and your students' target language. It's ideal for both new educators and experienced educators wanting to think more about proficiency and classroom assessment practices.
