[MGSA-L] National Hellenic Society Greek Guide to Greatness available on PBS Learning Media

Dear MGSA members,

 

The National Hellenic Society (NHS), an MGSA member and supporter, is
pleased to inform you know about our collaborative efforts with National
Geographic and co-production of:  The Greek Guide to Greatness

d_facets=&selected_facets=> . This 10-part episodic digital series consists
of short vignettes providing a nexus between the ancient world within a
modern context.  The series is available for your use as you see fit, on the
PBS Learning Media channel and website.  The NHS was also a co-sponsor of
the accompanying, The Greeks <http://www.pbs.org/show/greeks/>  series
produced by National Geographic that aired on PBS stations nationwide and
now airing in Europe.  

 

The Greek Guide to Greatness episodes have been described as very useful
resources serving as a springboard for classroom discussion.  For example,
the Democracy

_democracy/#.WMMI9DsrKUk>  episode framed a fascinating discussion at a
Democracy Forum

Stanford classicist and Professor, Dr. Josh Ober  (featured in the "Economy"
vignette).
