Announced today in SF State's 'Campus Memo':

SF State's Turkish Studies Lecturer David Selim Sayers authored the book "Muhacirnâme: Poetry's Voice for the Karamanlidhes Refugees," which was published by Istos Press. The book contains translations of refugee poems by Turkish-speaking Anatolian Orthodox Christians forcibly relocated to Greece at the outset of the Turkish Republic. The poems were co-translated by Aytek Soner Alpan, who also edited the volume along with Evangelia Balta. The book also contains the poems in their Karamanlidika original, Turkish transliteration.
