Michalis Spourdalakis will present and analyze the origin and the unique
strategy of SYRIZA that elevated it from a small party of the left, to
the epicenter of the Greek political and party system, and then to
power. Many have argued that SYRIZA’s radicalism has been transformed
into a type of new party of realism which has alienated it from its
original orientation and identity. Professor Spourdalakis will examine the
content and the reasons for this alleged realism in the second part of
his talk.
