Politics professor Yannis Stavrakakis talks about the impact of the
“modernizing vs. underdog” scheme on Greek political science and media
discourse, the POPULISMUS research project, the merits and limitations of
populist parties in Europe and Latin America, the difference between
left-wing and right-wing populism, as well as the dangers an "oligarchic
anti-populism" that demonizes popular movements in times of crisis.
