In particular, the conference will explore the complex temporality of seeking to protect past values for the future, and will attempt to answer the question: how do we decide which aspects of culture should be sustained, and which should give way to change and development?Papers are invited from across the humanities and social sciences, and interdisciplinary contributions are also welcomed.
