The byline reflects the original authorship.Type: Call for PapersDate: October 21, 2015Location: United KingdomSubject Fields: World History / Studies, Political History / StudiesWe invite proposals for the Lent term session of this year’s LSE International History Research Seminar (HY509).The seminar welcomes presentations on any aspect of international history, broadly defined, with a focus on the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. The seminar is an ideal environment to present research at an early stage and meet other students and faculty members from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).Seminars will be held between January and March. From 2015-16, the International History Research Seminar is open both to LSE and non- LSE presenters. These include PhD students, postdoctoral researchers as well as visiting and teaching fellows. Each session will feature two speakers presenting on a similar topic. Presenters are expected to submit a long abstract (around 1,000 words) ten days before their presentation. The abstract will be circulated among HY509 participants beforehand. Presentations are typically 30 minutes for each speaker, followed by Q&A.Those interested in presenting are invited to submit a provisional title and a short abstract (300 words maximum) to internationalhistory509 at gmail.com by Wednesday, 21 October 2015.We will aim to ensure a balance of doctoral, post-doctoral, and other presenters from LSE and elsewhere. LSE applicants are invited to encourage non-LSE PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, visiting and teaching fellows whom they would like to present with to apply. Special consideration will be given to abstracts that fit well together. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any question.Bastiaan Bouwman Alexandre Dab Cees Heere Tommaso MilaniContact Info: For queries please contact the cooorganizer Tommaso Milani (email address: t.milani at lse.ac.uk)Contact Email: internationalhistory509 at gmail.com URL: http://www.lse.ac.uk/internationalHistory/currentStudentInformation/phdworkshopsandseminars.aspx
