Robert V. Keeley, brother of MGSA co-founder and former president of the Association Edmund Keeley, died on January 9, 2015 in Washington, D.C.  He was 85.   A career Foreign Service Officer, Robert V.  Keeley  served as a political analyst in the US embassy in Athens (1966-1969), and as US Ambassador to Greece (1985-1989). Previously, he had been US Ambassador to Mauritius (1976-1978) and to Zimbabwe (1980-1984).  Ambassador Keeley’s book, The Colonels’ Coup and the American Embassy. A Diplomat’s View of the Breakdown of Democracy in Cold War Greece, was published in 2010 by  the Pennsylvania State University Press. A Greek edition, under the title E americaniki presveia kai e katarrevse tes democratias sten Ellada, 1966-1969. E martiria enos diplomati, was published in 2010 by Ekdoseis Pataki.    An obituary of Ambassador Keeley appeared in The Washington Post on January 10, 2015.                                               *
