   - *Imagining the Balkans @ Old Parliament*

The National History Museum presents the groundbreaking, international,
traveling exhibition Imagining the Balkans, Identities and Memory in the
Long 19th century
<http://www.artandlife.gr/en/Athina-ekthesi_imagining_the_balkans_taytotites_kai_mnimi_ston_makry_19_o_aiona?R>,
organized by UNESCO
<http://www.unesco.org/new/en/venice/resources-services/host-facilities/special-events/imagining-the-balkans/>.
Focusing on the 19th century, the exhibition explores the emergence of
modern national identities and nation states; it follows the history of
ideological, socio-political, economic, and cultural changes in the Balkans
and narrates a common history, while highlighting the similarities between
peoples and states, which are usually hidden behind national rivalries and
claims.

The exhibition will run until April 19, 2015, at the Old Parliament
Building; a catalogue in Greek and English is available.
