Dear All,

I was browsing the MGSA website and I noticed an ad on the 'Jobs' section,
from US weapons manufacturer Northrop Grumman, looking for translators. (
http://mgsa.org/Resources/jobs.html#ng ) The ad says:
Translator/interpreter, Modern Greek-English, Northrop Grumman Corporation,
Europe
2010
Mar 30

Translator/interpreter positions available for US citizens fluent in modern
Greek in support of US Army missions in Europe. Full-time, competitive
salary. For more information please contact nora.dimitrova at ngc.com

For those of you who don't know, Northrop Grumman sells weapons to the US
military, has been involved in the militarization of the US-Mexico border
as well as the building of the apartheid wall in Occupied Palestine,
manufactures predator drones used to murder civilians in Afghanistan and
Pakistan, and sells to the Israeli military. They are one of the largest
weapons manufacturers in the world. You can find out about them here:
http://wedivest.org/learn-more/northropgrumman/

This begs two questions: (1) why is MGSA posting job ads from US weapons
manufacturers on their website and (2) why is (or was, as the ad was from
2010) Northrop Grumman looking for Greek translators? This should be
especially disconcerting being as one of the "exceptions" that has been
made by France and Germany to the austerity bills they have been forcing
onto Greece has been that Greece continue to buy French and German weapons.
Is Northrop Grumman looking to profit off of the Greek financial crisis?
