*“Debating Europe”-Lectures
organized by Evropaiki Ekfrasi &
the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom
in cooperation with the University of the Aegean &
the University of Peloponnese

18 – 20 March 2013
*

A key feature of this project is to embrace academic institutions in the
periphery of Greece and to promote a stimulating debate with the European
idea and liberal thought
as the reference point. The discussion should assist in consolidating
ground for a European and liberal movement in Greece and help the wider
dissemination of these values.

In principle, the lectures focus on issues with relevance to European
values, European ideas and European Union policy directions. Special
attention should be paid to the
research focus of the respective Jean Monnet Chair if possible. The first
two lectures are only the kick-off to a series which will encompass four
lectures at four different venues this year. Jean Monnet Chair holders
relevant to our project are housed in the Departments of Sociology (U of
Aegean) and Economics (U of Peloponnese) respectively.
