Triumphing over time (Documentary)

A rare color film of '47 U.S. for Greek antiquities, with a strong
element of folklore.

In 1947 the American School of Classical Studies at Athens
commissioned the production of a documentary entitled "triumphing in
time» (Triumph over time). Personnel American School appears to resume
his research and prepare archaeological sites to visit them the
"postwar" tourists. Featured footage of excavations in the Agora of
Athens and Ancient Corinth mixed with scenes of everyday rural life,
the former kings Paul and Frederica attending a public lecture, the
librarian of Gennadi showing some of the rare books library. archivist
of The American School, NATALIA VOGEIKOFF, describes the history and
production of documentaries, as well as its position in the history of
American School of Classical Studies and the political history of
Greece. Also showing impressive excerpts from unpublished letters and
memoirs and contemporary photographs. The documentary, directed by
Oscar Bronir archaeologist and numismatist produced by Margaret
Thompson with the help of staff from Fox Studios, presents Greece
tries to recover from the horrors the Second World War. VIEW THE
