Dear friends,

Graduate students (of 2013 or defended 2013) and recent unemployed PhDs (2011 to present) whose individual abstract or panel paper has been accepted and who will be attending the 2013 Symposium and will incur travel costs (are not from Bloomington or nearby) are eligible for grants of $300 from the MGSA Symposium and its sponsors.

Applicants are asked to submit the following documentation (in pdf scan and via email attachment) along with their request for a reimbursement:

1) copy of most recent student ID card

2) title of paper to be presented

   3) institutional and departmental affiliation and address

4) a brief statement from the dissertation advisor on university letterhead confirming the graduate student status of the applicant, or his/her status as a recent but unemployed PhdD.

Please compile all documentation in one pdf scan and direct all applications to gonda at ufl.edu<mailto:gonda at ufl.edu> by the MAY 1, 2013 deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Final decisions about gift cards are made at the discretion of the Graduate Studies Committee Chair after consultation with the Chair of the Symposium's Local Arrangements Committee. Decisions will be announced on May 15.

Co-presenters may share one card. The VISA gift card will be handed to presenters on site when they pick up their registration materials.

Thank you all, and we look forward to seeing you in Bloomington, 14-16 November.
