 Culture Prize "Dido Sotiriou"

 With the Culture Prize "Dido Sotiriou"  honors distinguished record
and Hellenist Mark Mazower , the Society of Authors . The awards
ceremony will take place on October 23, 2012 at 19.00 at the Athens
Concert Hall . After the awards ceremony will follow the lecture of
Mark Mazower on "The vision of Spinelli: Greece and the European
crisis"

 The eminent historian and author Mark Mazower has particularly dealt
with the history of modern Greece. The book titled "Thessaloniki, City
of Ghosts: Christians, Muslims and Jews, 1430-1950" has been awarded
the prize Duff Cooper. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts
and Sciences and director of the Center for World History at the
University of Columbia.
Following the award of the Mark Mazower will talk about Greece and the
European crisis referring to a historical figure in Europe, a great
citizen of the European Union the Altiero Spinelli (1907-1986).

The Culture Prize established by the Society of Authors in memory Dido
Sotiriou awarded to foreign or Greek author who's writing reveals the
communication between people and cultures through cultural diversity.
