A 17-year-old high school student received a Unicef award in Athens
<http://www.unicef.gr/news/2012/dt4412.php>, at an event that took place
on November 20, on Universal Children’s Day
<http://www.unicef.org/media/media_66404.html>, for his ground-breaking
invention: a state-of-the-art mechanical glove designed for people with
disabilities. Haris Ioannou said he came up with the idea
<http://www.amna.gr/english/articleview.php?id=1775> of a metallic glove
two years ago, when he first noticed that his grandmother was having
great difficulty moving her hands: "at times she couldn't even grab the
TV remote," Ioannou said.

The form-fitting metal device, weighs just 350 gr. and includes pressure
sensors that can detect the hand movements of the person wearing it.
