Father Justin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971, and entered a Greek Orthodox monastery three years later. He was tonsured in 1977, and ordained deacon and priest the following year. He has been a monk of Saint Catherine's Monastery since 1996, where he was assigned the task of photographing manuscripts with a high resolution digital camera. Six years ago, he was also appointed librarian, and a member of the Holy Council of the Fathers.

Jack Tannous is an assistant professor in the History Department at Princeton, where he is responsible for teaching Late Antiquity. He works on the social and cultural history of the Middle East in this period, particularly in Syriac and Arabic-speaking Christian communities.
