[MGSA-L] Special Issue of "Interactions" on Contemporary Greek Culture

A special issue of the journal Interactions focusing on Contemporary Greek Culture, edited by Dimitris Eleftheriotis (University of Glasgow), Dimitris Papanikolaou (University of Oxford) and Lydia Papadimitriou (Liverpool John Moores University), has just been published.

It contains introductions by the editors and articles by Vrasidas Karalis, Dimitris Plantzos, Glyn Davis, Konstantina Georganta, Erato Basea, Eleni Papargyriou, Penelope Petsini and Maria Chalkou.

The articles range from broad ranging topics addressing issues of Neo-Hellenic culture and the place of the classical in contemporary Greece, to more focused approaches dealing with television (Tsiolkas' Australian production of The Slap), literature (Gazmend Kapllani), popular representations of Greece in Hollywood (My life in Ruins), poetry and photography (Cavafy and Michals), postmodernism in Greek photography and recent independent Greek cinema.
