With the assistance of a grant from the Mellon Foundation, Cornell University has initiated a distance-learning program for Modern Greek in cooperation with Yale University. The pilot program was begun with intermediate level Greek, and plans to extend its offerings to elementary level next year. Taught by Maria Kaliambou at Yale, Greek is one of a series of exchanges initiated between Cornell, Yale and Columbia to enable students to pursue less-commonly-taught languages through distance learning.
