[MGSA-L] Job Opening at the Program in Hellenic Studies-Columbia University

Reporting to the Faculty Director of the Program in Hellenic Studies in the
Classics Department, the Program Coordinator manages the day-to-day
operations and budgets for the program as well as research initiatives for
the Doukas chair holder. Incumbent is responsible for planning and managing
events, overseeing the development of all aspects of outreach and publicity
of courses. The incumbent manages the budget and prevents overdrafts,
manages all frontline electronic financial transactions and paperwork and
has signature approval; generates year-end reports for foundations and
associations; tracks program subventions, oversees Program and Doukas
reimbursements and works closely with Faculty Director and Doukas chair to
perform fiscal year-end closing. He/she organizes program materials, serves
as liaison to Hamilton Library, and oversees electronic article database.
He/she administers the Study Abroad program, arranges all visa and
immigration documents for fellows, visitors and students.  He/she manages &
updates program website; organize files and archives program events and news
stories; and performs other duties and responsibilities assigned as
necessary.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Two years' related work experience
required, preferably at a non-profit or educational institution.

 

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Strong computer skills required. Must be resourceful, highly organized,
willing to learn independently, and able to work collaboratively on multiple
projects with faculty, staff, and students. Knowledge of Greek and/or other
languages, a plus.
