On behalf of the School of Humanities at Flinders University, we would like to inform you of the following conference:
                        
The conference will be held at Flinders University, located in Adelaide, South Australia, on 27-30 June 2013.  

The conference is hosted by LOGOS Australian Centre for Hellenic Language and Culture and the Department of Language Studies at Flinders University and supported by The Foundation for Hellenic Studies.  

The inter-disciplinary conference will explore themes from Greek and Cypriot studies and generational perspectives on ageing. 

We welcome attendance from academics, researchers, practitioners and policy makers.  

A vibrant program will be dedicated to papers and posters relating to Greek, Cypriot studies and Ageing in the Migrant Diasporas that will continue the tradition of the international conferences on Greek Research and will include the following areas of research: 
·         Ancient Greek Philosophy
·         An Exploration of Digital Environments
·         Classical Studies
·         Cyprus from 1960-2013: 53 years later
·         Education
·         Generational Perspectives on Ageing
·         History and Migration
·         Literature and Language
·         One day Professional Development for Teachers in Modern Greek
·         Society and Culture  

ABSTRACT:  Please submit abstract (up to 200 words) using the on-line Abstract form available on the conference website: http://www.flinders.edu.au/ehl/conferences/greek/research2013 

CALL FOR PAPERS:  All abstracts should be received by 15 February 2013, however early submissions are encouraged as the number of presentations is limited.  

PRESENTATIONS:  Oral presentations – 20 minute papers will be followed by 10 minute discussion time at the end of each session. Poster presentations also welcome.  

PROGRAM:  Parallel sessions and panel discussions will be scheduled over the three days of 28-30 June 2013 and papers will be grouped according to the area of research. The preliminary Program will be available on the website as soon as possible. Professional Development seminars for teachers of Modern Greek and teachers of Philosophy will be included in the conference program.  

CONFERENCE DINNER:  The conference dinner will be held on Thursday 27th June 2013 at the Adelaide Pavilion, overlooking the spectacular garden surroundings of Veale Gardens.  Cost for the dinner including drinks is $90.00. All Welcome.

CONFERENCE LANGUAGES:  Greek and English

LOCATION:  School of Humanities, Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

PUBLIC EVENTS:  An exciting array of public lectures, book launches and other events will be presented free of charge in June 2013, before and during the conference, for delegates and the general public.
