Hellenic Birthright

Introducing the new Summer-in-Greece Program of the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation

The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation is proud to announce the inauguration of its new cultural enrichment and
educational program Hellenic Birthright, a unique immersive experience for Greek American college students.

Hellenic Birthright connects American students of Hellenic descent with their ancestral birth place through uniquely tailored cultural and educational activities that blend academics, art, architecture, and history. Additionally, a study-abroad component of the program enables students to broaden their education through accredited college courses while they experience everyday life in Greece.

Hellenic Birthright is being launched in collaboration with Anatolia College and their school of higher studies, the
American College of Thessaloniki (ACT). [See http://www.act.edu ]
The five-week program takes place between June 18 - July 20, 2012 and
students will receive up to 6 transferable college credits.

The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation will underwrite the study abroad expenses for 15 students at a cost of
$5,000 per student. Students will be responsible for their airfare, health insurance and incidental expenses. Applicants
who don’t qualify may also join the program at their own expense.

To be eligible for Hellenic Birthright you must:

• be a college student between the ages of 18-25
• be of Hellenic descent
• have never been to Greece
• have demonstrated financial need
• have your application postmarked by April 14, 2012

Students will participate in overnight and multi-day excursions, visiting such historical sites as Thessaloniki’s Agia Sophia, the church of Agios Demetrios, the White Tower, the new Acropolis Museum in Athens, as well as Vergina and Pella to retrace the legacy of Alexander the Great. Students will also experience life in Athens, Corinth, Delphi, Troy, as well as many other ancient sites and cities.
