[MGSA-L] Announcing new course on Greek film for Spring 2012

The program in Modern Greek Studies at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign is thrilled to be offering a new course for Spring 2012.

*GRKM 199: "Contemporary Greek culture and film"
*

will survey Greek cinema and Greek film culture from the earliest periods to
the present and will introduce related developments in modern Greek society
with special emphasis on current events. There are no restrictions in
enrollment and arrangements can be made for a mixed graduate-undergraduate
class. The class will meet once weekly (W 3-7) and the instructor is Dr
Vassiliki Tsitsopoulou. Class time includes weekly screenings of films. This
course meets with CWL 199, EURO 199 and MACS 199.

A Greek film festival is also planned. Stay tuned!

Elementary Modern Greek II (GRKM 202) and Intermediate Modern Greek II (GRKM
404) are also offered in Spring 2012. Register and see details for all
