Mapping Early Modern Greek Literature (12th-17th century) 
Heraklion, 1-4 November 2012

The Department of Philology at the University of Crete and the Society of Cretan Historical Studies are pleased to host Neograeca Medii Aevi VII, an international congress on the general theme
Mapping Early Modern Greek Literature (12th-17th century). The conference will be held in Heraklion from
1st to 4th November 2012. The programme is to include sessions organized around the following subject areas:

 1. Vernacular manifestations of the late Greek Middles Ages.
 2. From manuscript to manuscript: production and dissemination of literary texts (14th - 17th century).
 3. Issues of poetics in Cretan Literature at its peak.
 4. Papers on other topics.

  A special plenary session of the congress will be devoted to the inaugural meeting of the International Society for the Study of Vernacular Greek Literature (12th-17th century).  We would like to invite you to participate as a speaker at the conference. Allotted time for papers will be 20 minutes.  

To register, please complete the registration form and send it by email to neograecamediiaevi.vii at ekim.gr, or by post to: The Historical Museum of Crete, A. & M. Kalokerinos House, Sofokli Venizelou 27 / LysimachouKalokerinou 7, 71202 Heraklion, Crete, Greece. 

Paper titles should be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 400 words. The deadline for submissions is 30th October 2011.   Notification of acceptance will be sent out by email no later than 15th December 2011.
