Vassili,

It is always good to hear that contemporary Greek composers beyond the broadly recognized Theodoraki, Skalkota and Xenaki are performed in the US. Philippos Tsalachouris is an accomplished classical composer in his 40s. Another, younger (early 30s) upcoming Greek composer is Efstratios (Stratis) Minakakis who has already distinguished himself in a number of venues, and is currently teaching at the New England Conservatory of Music. It is great when works of such talented musicians are performed in the US. So, thanks for posting the January 23rd concert, even after the fact. Perhaps other Hellenic Studies programs will also have the opportunity to become venues for the performance of contemporary Greek composers and musicians.

All best,

Anna Kartsonis
