STEVEN SALAITA Friday, November 14 3:30-5:00 p.m. UCI Student Center Doheny Beach A Steven Salaita is a writer, researcher and freelance journalist. He is the author most recently of *The Uncultured Wars: The Poverty of Liberal Thought* (Zed Books, 2008). His lecture will explore the processes by which Palestine has entered into the field of American Indian Studies, paying special attention to the problems and prospects of this recent interchange. In the question and answer period Dr. Salaita will also be happy to address issues of academic freedom and civility. The event is co-sponsored by Students for Justice in Palestine; ASUCI - EVP's office; the Departments of Anthropology, African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Comparative Literature, and Gender and Sexuality Studies; the Center for Global Peace and Conflict Studies; UCI Endowed Chair in Rhetoric and Communication; and the Irvine Faculty Association.
