TeamHealth Holdings, a Knoxville, Tenn.-based physician services outsourcing
firm, has acquired Midwest Emergency Associates of Chicago.

The deal adds more than 250 doctors and clinicians to TeamHealth, as Midwest
Emergency Associates provides staffing for more than 12 emergency
departments and four urgent-care centers. TeamHealth last year purchased
Morningstar Emergency Physicians of Oklahoma City, assuming management of 15
facilities. Last month, TeamHealth bought Denver-based Anesthesia Services.

TeamHealth officials estimate the Midwest Emergency Associates deal will
generate $55 million to $60 million in annualized revenue for the company.
