U.S. Senate to consider comprehensive medical liability reform
Source: AMA eVoice (http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/6087.html)
Date: April 20, 2006
The AMA urges all physicians and patients to contact their senators in
support of a critical bill that would stop the nation's medical liability
crisis. The Senate is expected to vote May 2 on S. 22, a comprehensive bill of
common-sense reforms that would fix the nation's out-of-control medical
liability system. The bill is based on a successful law in Texas that has
reduced medical liability premiums there by 22 percent and allowed the state's
physicians to provide quality medical care.
Visit the Web site or call the AMA Grassroots Hotline at (800) 833-6354 to make
your voice heard.
