This ED staffing group is assisting the LDHH with the scheduling of ER physicians at two
triage centers for evacuees and at two large field hospitals, one with a 200 bed ED. The
Governor of Louisiana has signed a decree granting MDs volunteering with be considered
agents of the state of Louisiana for tort liability purposes and you must submit to the
state health officer, or his designee at the Office of Public Health within the Louisiana
Department of Health and Hospitals, a copy of your respective licenses and photo
identification.

The Florida Department of Health is also accepting applications for volunteer healthcare
workers. They will be assisting with a wide territory of the affected areas and have a
large need but due to limited fuel and other resources at the scenes, they are requesting
a 1 week minimum commitment from volunteers.
