> We are seeking PEER MENTORS for incoming doctoral students participating in the Competitive Edge Summer Research Program! COMPETITIVE EDGE SUMMER RESEARCH PROGRAM – June 26, 2013 – AUGUST 21, 2013. The Competitive Edge participants conduct research under the direct supervision and guidance of a UCI faculty member. The program features workshops and seminars designed to familiarize incoming students with campus resources, foster professional development, establish peer support networks, and develop academic strategies to enhance the graduate education experience at UCI. Graduate Peer Mentors play a crucial role as they serve as role models advising new students regarding all aspects of life as a graduate student. Disciplines represented at this year’s Competitive Edge program are listed on the application. Responsibilities and time commitment are also listed in the application.  Doctoral students in their Third year or beyond and in the disciplines represented in this year’s program are encouraged to apply! Small stipend provided.  Application is attached to this email. Deadline to apply is Monday, June 10, 2013. Please email applications to diversity at rgs.uci.edu
