Good luck with finals and best wishes for a happy summer and safe and enriching adventures.

Stressed over finals? Maybe reading this will help a little: https://www.topuniversities.com/blog/how-survive-exam-season-stress?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email_qs&utm_campaign=TU-PG-newsletter-May17&partnerid=1632&spMailingID=14980709&spUserID=MTM3MDAxMzQwNzI1S0&spJobID=983049318&spReportId=OTgzMDQ5MzE4S0

Or you could try baking bread the day of your exam, like I did just before my oral comprehensive exam, which by the way I nailed in spite of severe test anxiety.

Another idea: attend one or more of the musical, dance or art shows on campus in the next week or so and find the joy, energy and inspiration that comes from close proximity to the arts. See some ideas below.

And take 4 minutes to watch this new video, UCI students’ College Edition parody of La La Land Another Day of Sun, to perk you up when coffee isn’t enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FThWhqasa2M
University of California, Irvine students put their spin on La La Land's Another Day of Sun! 80+ people were involved in this project with newly recorded instrumentals, vocals, lyrics, along with new choreography!

Thanks to all who attended the Art History Year End Party yesterday. Attendees included art history majors, staff and faculty and students from a wide variety of majors who are part of our art history community, from members of the Art History Undergraduate Association to students in art history classes, some of whom were recognized for their valuable contributions and insights. Photos were taken and will be shared at a later date if I don’t get too distracted by something else, so please stay tuned.

If you are graduating, please send me your personal email if you would like to stay in the loop with news, opportunities, and invitations to events and activities, both in and out of the area. And please stay in touch: we want to hear from you and know how things are going and if there’s anything we can do to help!

Free Events on campus: Please find the links on our AHUA<https://www.facebook.com/uci.ahua/> and/or Dept of Art History<https://www.facebook.com/ArtHistory.UCI/> Facebook pages for additional details and attend as many of these events as you can.

News:
Go to the window (a reference to a scene in an old Beatles movie you should see sometime). In this case, I refer to twitter<https://twitter.com/UCIArtHistory>, a quick way to scroll through the stuff I post and find what interests you, and facebook<https://www.facebook.com/uci.ahua/>, of which there are three to choose among: the official UCI Art History facebook page<https://www.facebook.com/ArtHistory.UCI/>, AHUA’s<https://www.facebook.com/ArtHistory.UCI/>, and my own personal page, which has pretty much the same information you’ll find on the other two pages, but you are welcome to make a friend request to me and if I remember to check, I’d be happy to add you.

Congratulations to Ryan Gurney, beloved TA, who is graduating next week with his PhD in Visual Studies. Read more at: http://www.humanities.uci.edu/arthistory/

Have time and interest in a really good seminar? Did you know that art history seminars typically have no more than 15 students in a class, sometimes less? Check out Lyle’s F17 offering:

California lawmakers, scientists and educators have begun protesting President Trump’s decision on Thursday to pull the Unites States out of the Paris Climate Accord. Many University of California administrators, who have long encouraged sustainability as a pillar of the UC system, heavily criticized Trump’s decision to leave the Accord, a 2015 pact between 196 nations to combat climate change through reduced carbon emissions and adoption of sustainable energy.
UC President Janet Napolitano stated shortly after Trump’s announcement that she was “deeply disappointed” in his decision to withdraw, especially given UC’s decades-long commitment to sustainability.

Other News we are proud to brag about:
