Subject: ONE MORE SUMMER INTERNSHIP

THE DEPARTMENT OF ART HISTORY IS ABLE TO OFFER ONE MORE SUMMER INTERNSHIP: $2,000 FOR 120 HOURS DURING THE SUMMER AT THE HUNTINGTON MUSEUM IN PASADENA

If you are already submitting an application for FOAH summer internships tomorrow, simply indicate in your cover letter that you are also interested in this one. Remember the applications are due to cwhiting at uci.edu<mailto:cwhiting at uci.edu> with a cc to c.flanagan at uci.edu<mailto:c.flanagan at uci.edu> tomorrow, Friday May 12th at noon.

Part-Time Summer Internship in the Huntington Art Collections

Under the supervision of the Associate Curator of American Art, James Glisson, the primary job of the candidate will be to explore the rare books, manuscripts, and ephemera collections of the library to select materials for the exhibition, Nineteen-Nineteen, a thematically organized exploration of the Huntington's collections through the lens of that year. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the early stage conceptualization of an exhibition, work with primary materials, and learn about special collections. The candidate must be highly organized, reliable, independent, and eager to dig into the massive collections of the Huntington to find items from, about, or related to the year 1919. If there's interest on the candidate's part, she/he might be invited to contribute a blog post to the Huntington's website.

You may apply for one or more internships. Submit the following application materials for each internship:

A. Cover letter (one-page maximum) describing your interest and qualifications.

B. Your unofficial transcript reflecting a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher in art history courses at UCI and/or 3.0 overall GPA.

C. Your resume (one-page maximum) including art history courses completed at UCI (you may attach a list of classes separately if needed), any previous internships, and any other relevant work, travel or volunteer experience.

D. Your art history faculty reference(s). You may also submit other references if you think they would be useful to our selection process.
