Ocean Blue Art + Design is a new gallery opening in Huntington Beach November 5, 2015. The gallery is multi-faceted, featuring rotating artists on exhibitions, shows and events featuring artist visits, artist representation, client consultation, and high-end art gallery sales.

The Fall Quarter 2015 internship will offer a student the opportunity to be a part of the process of opening a new fine art gallery. The student will be a part of the marketing and client communication process, sales training, setting up the gallery for opening to the public, Grand Opening event planning, and the initial six weeks of the gallery being open to the public. Gallery administration and management, event management, fine art gallery marketing and sales, and strategic planning are all tasks that the intern will be involved in.

The Winter Quarter 2016 will continue to offer exciting opportunities as an intern will be a part of ongoing art gallery management, planning of events and artist shows, client communication, and strategic development in sales, PR, and marketing. The New Year will start this internship off with a solo show by one of Orange County's esteemed artists of nearly 20 years.

This internship is intended for the History of Art major who has a strong interest in the business of selling fine art and managing fine art galleries. The intern will work directly with the gallery owner who has a degree in History of Art, has opened seven fine art galleries in the past decade and has managed world-class galleries in Las Vegas, Hawaii, and San Diego, selling works of art ranging from $500 to $250,000. He has also written five business plans for new gallery company development and served as a successful art broker.

Ocean Blue Art + Design's location is at Pacific City, Huntington Beach's beautiful new open-air retail development on the PCH overlooking the Pacific. The gallery features works by local, regional, and internationally renowned artists, specializing in Contemporary mixed media, photography, paintings, and prints. Pop, Abstract, Graffiti/Street Art, and Figurative styles will be featured.

This internship is unpaid with the opportunity for continuing internships into subsequent quarters and a possible paid staff position. The intern will be expected to work 8 to 10 hours per week. Interested students should submit their resume and cover letter for consideration.
