Dear Students, Friends of Art History, Faculty and Staff,

We invite you to participate in our 3rd annual Art Show organized by the Art History Undergraduate Association. This year’s two-day show will be held in the Student Center with an opening reception on Thursday, April 16th.

The diversity of academic interests across the UC Irvine campus inspired the theme of this year’s art show, Altered Perceptions. Altered Perceptions represents the diversity of UC Irvine by unifying the disciplines of art and science. We invite you to contribute your artwork to our exhibition by submitting a work of art you feel best represents your own interpretation of this theme.

Participants in the show are invited to engage with this concept of art and science as it relates to UCI. We welcome submissions of all forms and encourage you to think beyond traditional mediums of art. If you would like to have your artwork displayed, please email ahua.uci12 at gmail.com by Friday, February 27, 2015 to reserve your spot. A jpeg photo of your submission and the dimensions of the work, along with your full name, the title and medium will be due on March 13, 2015. If you would like to include a short paragraph about you or your work, please include that with your submission.

This show is a part of our ongoing effort to foster a community of art enthusiasts at UCI. We are excited to explore this important theme of art and science with you and invite you to come enjoy the exhibition even if you do not present a work of art. Keep your eyes out for updates and reminders and please do not hesitate to contact us with any comments or questions.
