Dear Art History Majors and Minors:


The Art History Undergraduate Association would like to invite you to 
apply for the *Art History Honors Award*. Thisaward is open to all 
students with at least 28 units of Art History courses. The goal in 
creating an honors society is to make joining AHUA more than just a 
community for students, we want it to be useful for graduate school 
applications and resumes. We feel that we are providing opportunities 
for students to network with the art community, meet and interview 
professionals in the field, and help make our environment more open to 
what our discipline has to offer. By creating the honors society we feel 
that this makes our association’s efforts stand out to employers and 
graduate programs as more influential than those of a club.

_Important Dates:_

- Application deadline: *Week 6* of the applicant’s graduating quarter. 
Winter Quarter: *February 15th. *Spring Quarter:*May 17th.*

- Notification date: *Week 9* of graduating quarter.

_Qualifications:_

1. Be an active member of the Art History Undergraduate Association at 
least one full quarter before graduation

  -If you are not already a member, email ahua.uci12 at gmail.com 
<mailto:ahua.uci12 at gmail.com> to join today! Quarterly dues of only 
$10.00 make you eligible for this honors award, eligible to exhibit in 
the /On the Wall/ art show, provide access to private museum tours, 
Coffee with the Professor, workshops and

              awesome networking with professors and the local art 
community.

2. Maintain a 3.5 Art History GPA or higher with a minimum of 28 units 
from the time of application until graduation (this is the minimum for 
the Art History Minor).

3. Complete 10 volunteer hours related to art history

- Volunteer at an AHUA Event (driving, set up or clean-up etc…)

         - Independent Study Course in Art History

     - Internship in an art related field

your unofficial transcript sorted by school, with only your Art History 
GPA and list of volunteer hours by February 15th.

To get just your art history GPA:

    1. Go to the Student Access tab after signing in 
http://www.reg.uci.edu/access/student/welcome/

    2. Click on the Unofficial Transcript tab on the left side of the screen

    3. Above where it says "*****This is not an official 
transcript*****" click School and send that page.


We plan to recognize honors society members at the end of the year AHUA 
graduation brunch with a stole and certificate. Students will also be 
acknowledged at graduation with the option to wear an honors society 
stole that AHUA will select from Jostens. Students will pay the $10.00 
fee for the stole individually. This is award will enhance your C.V. and 
make you stand out among art history majors. The Art History department 
has agreed to supply honors award winners with a letter certifying their 
receipt of honors in Art History at graduation.
