The Art History of Florence

CSU Summer Arts
June 12 -- July 2, 2011
Application deadline: March 1, 2011

Description:
Earn 4 units of transferable undergraduate or graduate credit while studying the rich and significant history of the art of Florence, Italy, from the ancient ruins in Fiesole through the centuries of Medici power. Students will explore the city's fine museums, historic piazzas, public buildings, and palatial residences in daily site visits. A full 3 week immersion into Florentine culture and society allows students and professionals from all over the world to make contacts that will enhance their academic and career opportunities. This is an upper division art history course intended for students who have completed at least one survey of Western art history at a university or community college.
