No time or money to travel throughout Europe? Want to avoid the
crowds? Afraid of time travel?

Fear not. Take Professor Massey's 40B class this winter, all from the
comfort of your home away from home. You can:

Explore the catacombs in Rome, the soaring Gothic cathedrals of France,
exquisite manuscript paintings of monstrous marginalia (if you don't
know what this is, that's another good reason to take the class),
Renaissance masterpieces from nameless artisan to Michelangelo. Enjoy
the exploits of Kings and Crusaders from a safe distance, learn
something about building sacred and royal space (for that dream home of
yours!), and experience the energy created when Old and New Worlds collide.

Yes, you, too can journey with Professor Massey through the art,
culture, and history of Europe from the Middle Ages through the
Renaissance in Art History 40B: The History of Western Art: the Middle
Ages to the Renaissance. Thoughtfully scheduled to start at 10 am on
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the assignments for this class consist
of: one paper, a midterm, final, and reading of short articles and book
chapters posted on EEE (No textbook!).
