Dear Art History Majors,

I wanted to let you know about a few changes in the schedule of
classes in Art History for 2010-11. As many of you know, Professor
Kimberly Cassibry received a tenure-track job at Wellesley College and
will not be back with us this year. Many of the faculty have received
fellowships and will be away next year (Professors Bryan-Wilson,
Patel, and Wue). In the meantime, Professor Amy Powell will be on
parental leave winter and spring quarters because she is expecting a baby!!!
As a consequence of all of this good news, we will have a number of
new faculty among us next year. Specifics about their courses will be
posted on the Art History website.

Nicole Woods, who received her Ph.D. in Visual Studies at UCI, will be
teaching modern and contemporary art all three quarters.

Juli Wolfgram, who has taught for us before, will teach the 42 survey
in fall and winter as well as two upper-division courses (winter and
spring).

Shanna Kennedy-Quigley, who received her Ph.D. at UCLA, will teach
Ancient art all three quarters, including 40A in the fall.

Blair Davis, who received her Ph.D. at UCSB, will teach 40B and a
course on the Grand Tour in winter quarter.

Allan Langdale, who received his Ph.D. at UCSB and has been teaching
at UCSC, will teach two courses on Early Modern in spring quarter.

Please be sure to sign up for advising sessions with one of the three
undergraduate advisors in the fall: Professor James Herbert, Professor
Amy Powell, or Professor Anna Gonosová.

Sincerely,

Cecile Whiting
Chair, Department of Art History
