Composeable Human-Robotics Operations Workshop

Jan. 25-26, 2005

The purpose of this meeting is to review progress to date and plan the
year ahead.

This new initiative, called "Composeable Human-Robotics Operations
(CmHRO)" has continued to evolve and mature into an ever more exciting
effort. The extended abstract, from the 2004 IEEE International
Conference on Web Services (ICWS'2005), is attached for review of the
objectives and vision of CmHRO. From this early work last year, we have
generated white papers, proposals, briefs, and lab results that help
further articulate the breadth and depth of this multi-dimensional
initiative.

The workshop's first day introduces visitors to the center and tours
some of the facilities of our in-house interdepartmental CmHRO
collaborators. This first day is mainly for the benefit of new visitors,
such as applied research associates. All are encouraged to join us for
an overview of our CmHRO-related work here at the center and an
opportunity to visit a unique combination of facilities and labs. On the
second day, we will have a series of briefings that provide a fairly
comprehensive overview of our business development efforts, related
projects and technical progress. The goal of this second day is to
define specific milestones for our CY05 white paper, proposal, and
concept demonstration efforts. We will also discuss potential
publication opportunities and high-payoff conferences and related
meetings.

Please RSVP to Jayson Durham and Bill Torrez by Jan. 14, 2005
(jayson.durham at navy.mil) or Bill Torrez (william.torrez at navy.mil). If
you cannot attend, or think that someone else is considered a better fit
for a specific brief, please let us know and we will change the agenda
accordingly. Jayson will be on travel until next Friday and Bill is
helping with the organization of the workshop. Visit request information
is also attached for those who will be visiting the center. If you know
of someone who might like to attend, please forward this invitation.

With your RSVP, we ask for feedback, suggestions, ideas, etc. that will
help produce the most productive two days for everyone.
