of Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) No. W911NF-05-R-0003 for Solutions
for Physical Science & Technology Chemical/Biological Defense Program
dated December 2004. ARO solicits proposals to identify viable solutions
to technology gaps in the following chemical and biological science and
technology capability areas: Detection, Modeling and Simulation
/Battlespace (MSB), Protection, and Decontamination. (1) The detection
area requests applie d research proposals encompassing technologies that
are comparable to laboratory, high resolution test methodologies, but
are suitable for fieldable systems for fixed sites as well as mobile
platform applications to include the warfighter. (2) The modelin g and
simulation area requests applied research proposals pertaining to
chemical and biological defense for MSB and battle management
capabilities that are technologically revolutionary, that are
collaborative or complimentary, and leverage other efforts. (3) The
protection area requests applied research proposals for protective
clothing, protective masks, air purification systems and shelter
materials/systems that are technologically revolutionary, that are
collaborative or complimentary, and leverage oth er efforts. (4) The
decontamination area requests applied research proposals in the areas of
liquid phase (solution) decontamination for sensitive equipment and
vehicle interiors and solid phase reactive materials for use as sorbent
beds. A limited numbe r of basic research proposals in the above
capability areas will also be considered. The BAA contains additional
information along with instructions for white paper and full proposal
preparation and submission.

White papers are required and must be rec eived by 4:00 p.m.
